Hello Garci…

Please, I’m so tired of this issue. The first time it came out, it was still entertaining esp. when I heard the different ring tones of “Hello Garci” (the pink panther version being my favorite). And now that the President broke her silence, the more it became an issue -- the opposition saying that she really deserves to be impeached. Personally, I think there are more serious issues that we need to face or that the president needs to solve. Just look around and see how many Filipinos are starving and how many families are homeless. Of course I can also understand where the opposition is coming from -- they are questioning the credibility and integrity of the person occupying the highest position in the country. But where will this end? Another people power revolution? ....

Doctor Doctor I am sick

I had my BP checked last night and guess what, it's 80/60. I was there in the clinic to accompany a colleague who was feeling dizzy. Ironic part is, she's 120/80. The nurse's advice is to get enough sleep. But I'm very good at it. In fact, co-workers envy me and even call me 'garfield' coz that's what I always do...sleep, sleep and sleep! My mom was so alarmed when I told her the news that they (my parents) had to buy me a sofa bed. Not because I don't have one, but I prefer to sleep in the living room (beside Spider Kitty). That was so sweet of them and I really appreciated it. This is an 'awww' moment.

And as I'm typing this entry, my sis just called "umuwi ka na at baka mag-faint ka diyan sa office!" ...hehehe...I feel like a baby :-)

A Blessing in Disguise

Coming from night shift, I went straight to class then had lunch with my family. I was asking my co-worker the night before if I'd be able to survive the ff. day given that I still have to leave the house at around 6pm. That will mean only 2 hours of sleep. It turned out to be an unexpected day for me. My prof., understanding my work sched, allowed me to take a 30-minute nap (that gives him a favor too -- baka tinatamad magturo). Fast forward.... I can't forget the sumptuous meal I had during lunch. Aside from it's free (Congratulations again Sis for a job well done); I like the ambience and the taste of the food. I highly recommend Casa Armas' paella and salpicao and Bizu's mediant sugarless-- really one of the best!

I also like to share that I was, at last, able to find the kind of shoes I've been looking for. I spent the last two weekends looking for that comfortable shoe. It's not that simple you see, I have very specific requirements this time. I was expecting to find it in more expensive stores but guess what, I found it in one of our local shoe stores, proudly Philippine-made (sana nga lang, tumagal) :-)

Mr. and Mrs. Smith -- i like the movie, the action, the characters and oh my mamma,BRAD PITT!!!! *sigh*

Call me a shallow person but all of these made my day!

Down South

Unless you have place in Tagyatay, there's really nothing much to do in this place. Of course there's the usual horseback riding, visiting retreat houses, going to the casino, having a good massage or spa, and the best part...eating. But last sunday, we discovered a new 'tambayan' -- lunch was at Firegrill Lake in Crestview Hill and dessert was at Massimo. Thanks to my friend Donna for recommending the place. The former serves lunch from 11am - 2pm (try their steaks, you'll love it). So after 2pm, you won't expect people to come in and that gives you the privacy and the opportunity to hang-out outside. Crestview Hill is like a compound so there are chairs and big umbrella's outside. Really perfect for a tambayan. Massimo is an old place. I've seen it before but it's only now that I tried eating there. A lot of people go there but only few really stay that long. Plus, the staff won't care if you really spend time hanging out (perhaps not on peak hours). Just to manage expectations, you really can't find plenty of desserts and not really a cheap place (if you know what I mean). Come to think of it, the 'tambay' hours must be part of the price :- )
