Down South
Unless you have place in Tagyatay, there's really nothing much to do in this place. Of course there's the usual horseback riding, visiting retreat houses, going to the casino, having a good massage or spa, and the best part...eating. But last sunday, we discovered a new 'tambayan' -- lunch was at Firegrill Lake in Crestview Hill and dessert was at Massimo. Thanks to my friend Donna for recommending the place. The former serves lunch from 11am - 2pm (try their steaks, you'll love it). So after 2pm, you won't expect people to come in and that gives you the privacy and the opportunity to hang-out outside. Crestview Hill is like a compound so there are chairs and big umbrella's outside. Really perfect for a tambayan. Massimo is an old place. I've seen it before but it's only now that I tried eating there. A lot of people go there but only few really stay that long. Plus, the staff won't care if you really spend time hanging out (perhaps not on peak hours). Just to manage expectations, you really can't find plenty of desserts and not really a cheap place (if you know what I mean). Come to think of it, the 'tambay' hours must be part of the price :- )
